I just went through every page on the website and updated some things that needed to be updated. Not too much was updated, just little things that could turn into big things. We are still looking for more submissions, as our listener base is growing. We have three dedicated listeners from all over the world and many more listeners popping in and out through any given day. The listeners are there, so we need to entertain them.
We are now looking to add specialty shows. You can talk about almost anything that would be interesting to a listener. Just record it in .mp3 format and send it on over to indieradionashville@gmail.com. We will get it on the air within 24 hours!

Downtime
The radio has been down for about a week now. I have been busy with college and life events but I am working hard to get it back on the air. Since the computer's Windows updated it messed everything up and it will no longer connect to the server. I hope to figure this out within the next week! Until then, go back in time and listen to some of our podcasts from Soundcloud!

Few Hiccups with the station
The past three days have been hell trying to keep the radio station going. I was in the process of moving everything to a dedicated desktop computer that I picked up for $50. The mini laptop that was running the station since day one kept updating Windows without asking if I wanted to update and restart. Everything is now moved to the desktop computer and I will keep the mini laptop close by in case the other one goes down.
In other news, we might be changing directions with the radio station. Right now we are playing people from all around the world, which is great, but I would like to advertise local musicians and events that go on around Greencastle, PA. I really don't want to change the name, however, I believe it to be very necessary since Greencastle is nowhere near Nashville. I think we can play and advertise local musicians but keep playing folks from around the world. Anyone have any suggestions?

We haven't disappeared!
We are posting this update to first bring in the new year with Indie Radio Nashville and to also let our listeners know that we have not given up the podcast.
First of all, welcome to 2017! We have had a successful year in 2016 bringing you new music from around the world from musicians who should be heard. 2017 will be no different in that aspect. We thought that we would be releasing more podcasts than we did last year, but we lacked the musicians to promote. Not as many musicians answered our ads as we originally planned. We managed, however, to release five solid podcasts that were listened to by at least 100 people each. This next round we want to break that record and double it with the new episodes.
How are we going to be different in 2017? Our goals for 2017 are as followed:
* Improved podcast quality. (mastering skills needed)
* Quality discussions instead of just introducing musicians.
* To find a place for old podcasts to die that is assessable to everybody.
* Start an online radio station. (Still searching for a cheap host)
* Start artist interviews via skype or something.
We will just stop there for now because that is a long list to complete within a year. These are our goals and will help build our listener base. We want independent musicians to be the new mainstream and will do everything in our power to continue promoting real musicians like you. Check back with us every once in awhile and subscribe so you won't miss anything. Things are coming together for the first episode of the new year. Stay tuned...

Can't stop listening!
I am currently listening to the lineup we are going to be playing next week. You know music is good when you have headphones on and get lost inside. Music is suppose to move you and get you thinking about what the lyrics mean. Some music can take you back to your childhood, spark new ideas for your future, and in some cases, save you from making mistakes.
Podcast will be recorded tomorrow night most likely. I think we have around 9 songs this time around, so it will be almost an hour long! The more episodes we release, the closer we get to our max storage space on SoundCloud. I am going to have to take old episodes down to put new ones up. I am currently looking for a place to store the old ones so we can listen back to all the great artists we have played. If you come across any good hosts that are free, please get in contact with me!

Online Radio Station
We have released 2 podcasts so far on Indie Radio Nashville. To this posting, we have had 70 listens on the first podcast and 19 listens on the second podcast. Hardly enough material to run a 24/7 rotation online. I think musicians get more exposure if we are limited to 6 songs per podcast, yet I think an online radio station would be a cool idea.
My goal in the end is to have enough material to run an indie radio station. I want to have charts and everything to help get exposure. As I am waiting for more material, I am looking for online radio hosts that are free, because running an online radio station can be pricey. What do you guys think? Know of any free hosts?

Indie Radio Nashville is preparing for its first ever podcast! Currently, we have opened up submissions for new music to be played on our podcast. We also feature all of the artists that we play, so it would be great if you would also provide a short bio, and some pictures with your submission. Submissions will be open until September 28, 2014, so be sure to get yours in as soon as you can.

Some Changes
Instead of the streaming radio player, we will be switching to podcasts. Caster.fm has changed their format and now show ads when you try to play the radio. So instead of upgrading to a $80 a month plan, we will just do podcasts, until I find something better. Expect the first podcast later this month. We will then have one podcast per month depending on how many song submissions we get.

Some updates!
Just finished touching up the website. I've changed the layout the best I could and added the radio player from Caster.fm. The radio is currently live, though I'm still not sure how I'm going to work the shows. We currently don't have enough music to play all day long. If you stay on the website and listen you will find out quickly we have repeat artists and songs. So should we just let it play over and over or just have a weekly show?
I guess for now I will just let it play. I will be away for awhile thinking of what Indie Radio Nashville is going to become. I will be adding pages in the coming days and hopefully an artist page filled with the artists we play on Indie Radio Nashville. Welcome to Indie Radio Nashville
Indie Radio Nashville is back but this time with a blog! I've been really busy in the last couple of months but I really wanted a place for Indie Radio Nashville where you can listen to music, and read about the artists. I think this will be a great way for fans to connect with their favorite artists plus give the artists more exposure. I also want to do some interviews for the blog and a music chart that is controlled by the listeners.
There is currently alot going on here at Indie Radio Nashville and I 'm trying to come up with some more ideas. If you have any ideas please don't hesitate to email me! Also remember that if you want your music played on Indie Radio Nashville all you need to do is email me with your mp3 and a brief bio of yourself. You must own all the rights to the music to get played! Hope everyone enjoys the new blog, thanks for listening!
